Why Cortez Started
He Saw What Happens When the Customer Gets Lost.
Before MoveSmart, Cortez worked moving jobs on the side while also working for SiteStaff Chat, overnight at McKesson, and studying home inspections. On moving jobs, he repeatedly saw the same issue: too many companies cared more about collecting payment than the people trusting them inside their homes.
He saw poor communication, a lack of respect for customers, and business decisions that put money ahead of relationships. MoveSmart was built to change that. The goal was never just to move furniture faster—it was to create a company that listens, prepares, communicates, and makes customers feel cared for from the first call through the final placement.
